Coping with Information Glut
Neil Postman, in his book Technopoly, characterized information glut as a situation more common now than ever before in history – Information glut happens when there is so much information available for consumption, we can’t process it, we can’t make sense of it, and we don’t know what’s real or true. We have recently heard terms like “fake news” or “alternative facts” and we wonder how it came to be that these terms are commonplace in our national discourse.
In this episode, we discuss just that – how this came to be, what are the implications for us as we live in an information glut environment, and how we can cope with those implications for not only us, but for our families, our children, and society as a whole.
Enjoy!
